its getting better by day…. There were times we had one problem or the other with internet download manager but with the help these tutorials SOLUTION TO IDM FAKE SERIAL NOPOP-UP 
.I know that problem has vanished. This post is just a build up on existing ones we have to keep updating what we have so that we are not left out of the train of time. IDM New version 6.21 Build 8:

make sure you uninstall completely the one you have before you proceed

1. Install IDM v6.21
2. Make sure to exit IDM v6.21 from icon tray.
3. Copy ‘IDMan.exe’ to File Location (C:Program FilesInternet Download Manager) & replace with the original file.
4. Open RegKey.reg file
5. Done, Enjoy 🙂
To remove security warnings:
1] Exit/Close IDM From Background
2] Go to your IDM installation folder C:/Program Files/IDM , right click on IDman.exe go to properties and uncheck “Read-only” Option and then Click OK
3] Now Open IDman.exe file, that same warning appears again, Uncheck the CheckBox and Click OK/Run and you’re Good To go Now
4] No More Security Warnings
